Die Hele Dorp Weet
Die Hele Dorp Weet ("The whole town knows") is an Afrikaans novel by Santie Grosskopf Also found as Die hele dorp weet in Afrikaans title format. It was twice adapted for film and was the basis for a radio serial.

The original novel
Novel explores the devastating effects of a divorce on a family through the story of a girl who goes in search of her father after the parents decide to divorce.
First published by Nasionale Boekhandel in 1958.
The film
The film, based on the novel, was produced, directed and edited by Kappie Botha, with a screenplay by Santie Grosskopf and distributed by Carfo films. The cast consisted of Annemarie Botha, Mathilde Hanekom, Joubero Malherbe, Danie van der Merwe, Denise West, Dirkie Haupt, Francois le Roux, Barbara Dreyer, Japie van Niekerk, Brenda van Loggerenberg and Nic Dreyer.
Translations, adaptations, sequels, etc
In 1975 by Constantia Films made a second version of the same story, now called Soekie. (See the entry on Soekie for details of the 1975 film.)
