Founded in 1972 in Durban. Theatre complex for the University of Durban-Westville Drama Department. Home of Asoka Theatre Productions. Used for drama department productions, T.V. recordings, recitals, festival events, and community theatre presentations. Theatre manager: Philippa savage. Asoka Theatre Publications, Durban

Founded by Dennis Schauffer in 19** in the University of Durban-Westville Drama Department, to publish research by staff and students. The Indic Theatre Series for example offers a number of monographs on on theatre in South Africa, notably on Indic theatre practice, while a second Profile Series on black playwriting in the country was started in 1999* with a monograph on the life and work of Zakes Mda (edited by Dennis Schauffer and ***).
