Vaudette Theatre

Vaudette Theatre refers to several venues around South Africa that were opened by the Union Bioscope Company. These were essentially cinemas that sometimes also hosted live performances.

Vaudette Theatre, Johannesburg

The Vaudette Theatre was located in Pritchard Street between Joubert and Eloff Streets. This was known as the "Vaudette Theatre and Lounge Tea Room" which opened in December 1909 in a section of the Royal Arcade, which connected Pritchard and Kerk Streets.

Vaudette Theatre, Krugersdorp

Their first cinema was a wood and iron building in Human Street in Krugersdorp called the Lyric Theatre which was later demolished and replaced by the Vaudette Theatre.

Vaudette Theatre, Kimberly

This venue was located in Jones Street.

Vaudette Theatre, East London

The Vaudette Theatre in East London was located in Argyle Street.
