Ufahamu: A Journal of African Studies

Named after the Swahili word for "comprehension", "understanding" or "being", the journal was established in 1970 to publish material on African history, politics, economics, sociology, anthropology, law, planning and development, literature, culture, and other topics about the continent and the African Diaspora.

It is published under the auspices of the James S. Coleman African Studies Center (ASC) at the University of California at Los Angeles.

Ufahamu Africa - a poscast

Ufahamu Africa is a weekly podcast about life and politics on the African continent, cohosted by Kim Yi Dionne and Rachel Beatty Riedl. The podcast offers in-depth interviews with diverse thinkers and innovators who are part of the life, culture, and politics of the continent.
