Durban Opera Company was an opera production company based in Durban from 1959-1964.

History

In 1959, Heinrich Haape launched the Durban Opera Company, the first local opera group to tour to the (then) Transvaal. In 1964, this company was taken over by the Natal Performing Arts Council (NAPAC) who initiated most opera productions after this date.
