Mark Scheepers is a writer, photographer, actor, designer and social entrepreneur.

Biography

He has worked for as a journalist and columnist at Caxton Community Newspapers, at one time as the managing editor of the Caxton Soweto Urban group of 11 newspapers.

He has been a regular book reviewer for Fairlady Magazine . He divides his time between Johannesburg, LA, NY and London and is currently working on his first novel and two series for ITV and Netflix.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

As a playwright and screenwriter his work has included a play for teens (Sugar Daddies Rot Your Teeth, 2012),

In 2012 his play for teens, ’, won the runner-up prize in the Maskew Miller Longman Youth Literature Awards and was subsequently published as part of an anthology for Grades7-9, alongside Gcina Mhlophe and Karina Szczurek. He has had two scripts produced for television as part of the Ekasi-Our Stories series, ‘Ubizo-The Calling’ and ‘Toyboy’. When he’s not working or finding funny stories for his work by dating; he enjoys socialising, travelling, scuba diving and entertaining and basically anything involving the outdoors and sport.
