East London Light Operatic Society, an amateur dramatic society in East London (circa 1970 - 1976).

Founding, function and history

East London Light Operatic Society was established circa 1970. It presented Gilbert and Sullivan operettas and musicals. The society amalgamated with the Arts Theatre Club on 19 May 1976, continuing as the Arts Theatre Club.

Productions

1970: The Gondoliers (presented in association with the Hebrew Order of David)

1971: H.M.S. Pinafore (presented in association with the Hebrew Order of David)

1973: The Mikado (directed by Webster Booth) (presented in association with the Hebrew Order of David)

1975: Showboat (directed by Mary Kockott)
