The HathiTrust Digital Library
The HathiTrust Digital Library is an invaluable resource for play texts and books about theatre, especially out of print work and rare works from earlier centuries.
According to its website (https://www.hathitrust.org/digital_library), "HathiTrust is a partnership of academic & research institutions, offering a collection of millions of titles digitized from libraries around the world" and its HathiTrust Digital Library is "a digital preservation repository and highly functional access platform. It provides long-term preservation and access services for public domain and in copyright content from a variety of sources, including Google Books, The Internet Archive, Microsoft, and in-house partner institution initiatives."
The Heritage Portal
Created and managed by James Ball, The Heritage Portal (https://www.theheritageportal.co.za/) is a South African history and heritage website that publishes articles and book reviews and shares notices about what is happening throughout the heritage community.The site hosts The Heritage Directory (a list of individuals, organisations and companies providing products and services to South Africa's heritage sector, including a database of South Africa's blue plaques sites) and publishes the online The Heritage Portal Newsletter. They accept contributions from the heritage community.

The Historical Papers Research Archive, University of the Witwatersrand
According to the website, "Historical Papers is one of the largest and most comprehensive independent archives in Southern Africa". It provides "...web-based delivery of digitized resources on this platform as well as 'AtoM', an acronymn for Access to Memory, which is an archival description application that is based on International Council of Archives (ICA) standards".
