Big Dada is a play by Brett Bailey, about Idi Amin Dada [1], President of Uganda (1971-79). World premiere in the Tropentheater in Amsterdam at the Roots Festival in June 2001.

Performance history in South Africa

2001: Premiered in South African at the Grahamstown Festival in 2001, a Third World Bunfight production directed by Brett Bailey with an all-male cast of ten singer-dancer-actors, led by Sello Sebotsane as Big Dada. The same production played in the Baxter Theatre after the Festival. 2005: Directed: Brett Bailey. Cast: Ace Bonde, Mxolisi Bosvark, Lefa Letsika, Bangani Manok, Xola Mda, Bongile Mantsai, Lulama Masimini, Odidi Mfenyana, Terence Nojila, Seputla Sebogodi, Abey Xakwe.
