The original text
The Clover Play was based on the experiences of 168 striking workers at the Clover Dairy in Pietermaritzburg in 1986. The aim of the play was to counter propaganda by the company claiming that the strike is over. The national tour was part of a fundraising campaign to help workers to be reinstated at Clover.
