Doing Plays for a Change is a collection of five plays by Maishe Maponya (1951-)

The five plays were written between 1979 and 1986, a period in the country's history marked by intense repression and escalating violence, also known as the Cultural Struggle.

Published by Wits University Press, Johannesburg, in 1995.

introduced by Ian Steadman, the collection contains The Hungry Earth, Dirty Work, Gangsters, Umongikazi: The Nurse and Jika.
