The Summer of the Seventeenth Doll by Ray Lawler. *** Directed by Leonard Schach for the National Theatre Organisation (N.T.O). It opened on New Year's Day of 1958, after which it went on a national tour and was the N.T.O's first real commercial success. Cast members included Joyce Bradley and Nigel Hawthorne. It depicted a slice of Australian life.
