The Distance Remains and Other Plays is a collection of short plays from around the world, compiled by Robin Malan.
This collection crosses the barriers of geographical and cultural backgrounds by bringing together Four of the seven plays are local and contemporary, highlighting southern Africa's rich theatrical tradition. Malan deftly juxtaposes humorous plays with more serious ones. Each play is followed by thought-provoking notes which discuss the play's themes and offer practical advice on staging the play.
