Founding and early history

Eilers Films was a production company established by actor, director, producer, newsreader, and radio personality, Paul Eilers alongside his wife at the time in 1982. The company was run out of their family home in Johannesburg.

Current status

Eilers Films has since been dissolved and is no longer active.

Impact on SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Several productions were released by Eilers Films including:

In 1982: The television series, King of Diamonds.

In 1984: The film, Die Fluiter, starring Elma Potgieter and Tromp Terre’blanche; the documentary series, Die Spoorweg Polisie; and the film, James (Ek Hoort nie hier Nie).
