A one-act play in the absurdist mold written by Van Niekerk for the USAT Dramafees of 1978 while still a student at Stellenbosch University.

Performance history in South Africa
1978: Performed as Die Duiwel, Sy Helper, en die Drie ligte Kooie in the Libertas-teater in Stellenbosch on 17 March as part of the USAT Dramafees, by the ASK at the University of Stellenbosch. Directed by Marlene van Niekerk, with Frans Roelofse, Pine Pienaar, Marieta van der Vyver, Petra Heydenrych, Marietjie de Villiers. Stage manager Koos Volgraaff, assisted by Lynnette Breedt.
1978: Presented by the same cast from the University of Stellenbosch as Die Duiwel, sy Helper en die Drie Ligtekooie at the S.A. University Drama Festival during the Sharp Festival of the Arts in July. Performed in a double bill with Vrolike Frans.
197*: Performed as Die Duiwel, Sy Handlanger en die Drie Ligtekooie by the semi professional Dinkteater in Pretoria, directed by Danie Burger.
