Cherice Smith is an actress.

Biography

The daughter of academic and theatre historian Julian Smith, she studied drama at the University of Stellenbosch between 2003 - 2005, followed by an honours level BPhil in Journalism at the same university. She went into Journalism, working as a Journalist for Media24 (Pty) Ltd and Naspers Limited (2007-2011), then became the Managing Editor and Features Editor for New Media Publishing for a short while, before joining the US Business School at the University of Stellenbosch in 2012-2016 as a marketing specialist and writer, working in various capacities.

In 2015 she also began taking further courses in marketing, doing the USB-ED Senior Management Development Programme at the Stellenbosch Business School (receiving the Director's Award for Best Student) and followed this with a masters in Master in Corporate Communication from the IE School of Science and Technology (2016 - 2017). Since then, she has worked locally and globally for a number of companies.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

As a drama student she had acting roles in Brolloks en Bittergal (written by Denene Erasmus, directed by Marthinus Basson, 2004),

She also wrote a play called Tussen Wyn en Wingerde in this time.
