The play written in 2003, was the first overall winner of the Sanlam-prys vir Afrikaanse Teater in 2004 when performed by the University of Stellenbosch.

Marita van der Vyver's novel Vergenoeg was adapted for the stage by Alexa Strachan, with music by Herman van den Berg.
Performance history in South Africa
2011: Directed by André Odendaal, with Sandra Prinsloo, Milan Murray and Alexa Strachan. A daughter looks after het dying mother, with the help of some alcohol and lots af make-up. The human and timeless story is told with pathos and humour. Woordfees, 2011.
