Lesoko Seabe () is a voice over artist, actor and academic

Also known as Soko Seabe.

Biography

She studied theatre and performance at the University of Cape Town (2004-2008) and completed a masters degree in performance there (2012-2013).

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

She has worked as actor and voice artist since 2009, being especially in demand as voice-over artist, and has also moved into playmaking and directing. For example, she co-wrote In Her Shoes, a dance work about violence against women, choreographed by Luyanda Sidiya (2017).

Her acting career has seen her perform across South Africa, Spain, the Netherlands, Denmark and The United Kingdom and her stage credits include Siembamba (2012), Clybourne Park (2016), In Her Shoes (2017), Significant Other (2018) and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (playing "Siobhan", 2018).

As a teacher she was an Acting and Voice Coach at AFDA (from May 2019 to June 2020).

At an administrative level, she has been an Arts and Public Health Facilitator for SHAWCO (June-October, 2004), an Executive Committee Member of the South African Guild of Actors (from May 2016) and a Facilitator for the Magnet Theatre Education Trust (since March 2016). In May 2020 she co-founded Victory of the Word, a campaign created to help raise funds for the Lovedale Press.
