Jan Mellet () was an architect, author and theatre practitioner.
Founder of the company Jan Mellet Architects(?)
Wrote books on people and places, including Manne van Staal: Die Grootste Avonture Van Ons Tyd("Men of steel:the greatest adventures of our time", Human & Rousseau, 1962) and Stede Uit Die Stof ("cities from the dust", Human & Rousseau, 1965),
He and Schalk Jacobsz were the managing directors of the South African Theatre Studio (SATS) in Bloemfontein (1967-8)
