Nicola Loubser () is a playwright, gallery director and administrator in knowledge management.

Biography

Born in Johannesburg, she went to school at Helpmekaar Kollege and went to the University of Stellenbosch (1996-2006), completing a BA (Drama and English), BA (Hons) and an M.Dram degree. She also did a course on Traditional Korean Ceramics for Foreigners at the National Museum of Korea (2003-2004).

She began working as a Software Implementer (for one year), before entering the art world in 2009, working as Gallery Director for Celebrity Cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines and Park West Gallery till 2010.

Since 2011 at the Johannesburg offices of Marsh, a Dutch insurance brokerage and risk management company.

She has a great interest in cooking, with a cooking from home blog on Pinterest.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

As part of a playwriting course in the Drama Department at Stellenbosch University, she wrote a radio play called I’ll Have the Crab, or The Culinary Education of a Travelling Man and a one act stage play in six scenes called When Woozles Come Out To Play.

The texts are unpublished, but a copy of each is held in the Drama Department archive, University of Stellenbosch.
