Biography
He was born in Cape Town and graduated with a BSc degree (Bachelor of Science) from the University of Cape Town in 1975, later obtaining a BCompt degree (Bachelor of Accounting Science) from the University of South Africa in 1992. He was a member of the SAIPA (South African Institute of Professional Accountants).
Contribution to South African theatre, film, media and performance
After a few years in the accounting profession, he joined the Baxter Theatre Centre in 1983, as Accountant. In 1985 he was promoted to Administrative Director, responsible for the operations, finance and general administration of the Complex.
Following on John Slemon's retirement in 1995, he served as Acting Director and CEO, doing so again from 1999 to 2000. During his career he also presented short courses in theatre administration to university students and theatre practitioners.
He has served on the Boards of The New Africa Theatre Association, as well as the Cape Town City Ballet.
He retired in 2011.
