Daar doer in die fliek

Daar doer in die fliek ("Over there in the cinema") is an Afrikaans documentary series of 26 episodes, dealing with various aspects of the history of the Afrikaans film in South Africa. Devised, filmed and presented by writer and film and TV critic Leon van Nierop with cinematographer Tom Marais, and produced by Diaz Films for distribution by kykNET

First season began broadcasting on 7 July, 2011.

The series was later reworked as a book publication, also called Daar doer in die fliek, with the subtitle: 'n Persoonlike blik op die geskiedenis van die Afrikaanse speelfilm
