The North End Library Hall, was part of the North End Library and was designed by F W Crage. It is situated on a triangular piece of land bounded by Mount Road and Crawford Street, North End Port Elizabeth. The building was opened on October 8, 1909, by the Civil Commissioner W C Scully. The hall was extended and given its own entrance. The building was opened by Mayor A H Brookes on December 17, 1927. The alterations were the work of Smith, Sons and Dewar. The hall was used during the day by scholars from an overcrowded school.
