(“Fairytale” - Zulu) by E. Zondi. Published by Wits University Press in 1986. An historical play based on the Bhambatha Rebellion of 1906 and the events that led up to it, such as the the hut, dog and poll-tax, the farm rents and the cultural clash between black chiefs and white government. It challenges the published historical view on these events.
