William Oosthuizen is primarily a writer of short stories and radio dramas.
In 2012 his radio drama Ons Gaan Huistoe was the winner of the RSG-Sanlam-radiodramakompetisie and many of his radio dramas have been broadcast by radio RSG (Radio Sonder Grense , i.e. "radio without borders", an Afrikaans-language station).
In 2020 he published a novel Die Dame met die Hondjie ("The lady with the small dog"), about the love life of Anton Chekhov.
