Ranza Skordis
Ranza Skordis (19**-). Actress, playwright and director.
Biography
Born Ranza Nora-J Skordis in Durban, and studied at the University of Stellenbosch Drama Department, obtaining a B.Dram. degree, followed by an M.Dram. in directing (cum laude) in 2003.
Contribution to South African Theatre and Performance
She acted in a student production of Yes and Know to the Freedom Chatter, wrote and directed The Tale of Two Titties (2002) and directed Antigone'' (by Jean Anouilh) (2003).
Her thesis, Improvisation and playmaking : a look at some improvisation techniques and their applications during the directing process, was based on her production of Antigone by Jean Anouilh in 2003, in which she framed the intrigue as a TV inspired Gladiators tournament, with woman cast as Creon.
