(Acronym: WYPA). Also known as Wolseley Youth for the Performing Arts.

A black rural amateur community theatre group from Wolseley in the Western Cape. Founded in 1984, after the Môrester Amateur Toneelvereniging (MAT) had begun to disintegrate. Quite radical and politically active, the group was made up of Felton September (chairman), Sam Muller (deputy-chairman), Estelle Mehl (secretary), Errol McClune, Maxene January, Maria Adams, Rudolf Williams, Appolis Frans and Pieter Heradien. Most of the members attended the Fred Gaum Secondary School in Ceres and had received no formal theatre training. Much of the work was written by the young people themselves and performances include Myne, Joune, Ons s’n by G.J. Lottering (1986), Agter doringdraad en tralies by Felton September (1987), Kroeskop van die Kaap af by Felton September (198*), Liefde is nie alles nie by Sam Muller, **. The group disbanded 1988.
