Pieter Juliaan Benjamin Retief (19**-). Critic.
Studied at the University of the Orange Free State, doing an M.A. thesis in Afrikaans & Dutch literature in 1966. The topic was theatre criticism and the NTO (National Theatre Organisation - 1947-1961). He worked under the supervision of playwright and critic Gerhard J. Beukes.
