Robert Pearce (19*-). Academic, playwright, poet, and musician. Also known as Robert J. Pearce.
Biography
As academic he taught at ***, then became Director of Client services at the UNISA Library (2000-2009) and in April 2009 moved to the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University as Director of Library and Information Services.
He has written several articles and letters as champion of the Afrikaans language, some published in Die Taalgenoot.
His work in theatre
His theatrical work in high school when he and Philip Louw wrote a play called From hippie to normal: the story of sinners and the birth of Jesus Christ. [He became a member of a theatrical group in Eersterust, for whom he wrote a number of plays ??**] *
Robert wrote Farmer Malan and his Birds and Animals a sketch, The Highbucks Gang, Die Highbucks Bende, In Glass Houses, Kleurvolle Struggle – ‘n Multiracial Jol, Die Laaste Marapie, Die Laaste Supper in Marabastad, Die Meeting Oftewél Vergadering, Die Musicians, 'n Shrink vir Azania, Ons vir jou Azania, Die Ontwortelde Boemelaars, The Paulson Story.
He acted in Daai's nou Politiek (1999).
