Cafe-bio (Café-bio) was the name given to a cinema-cum-tearoom, which offered continuous film-screenings, at which patrons might enjoy light refreshments while seeing a film. Very popular in the early and mid years of the 20th century, though not always considered safe or proper.

Also known as: cafe-bioscope, bio-cafe, tearoom bio and so on.

See also the entry under Bioscope.
