Annette Dubovsky
Annette Dubovsky (1920 – 2012) was a teacher, public lecturer, journalist and amateur theatre performer.

Biography
Born Annette Ellman in Johannesburg on 26 October 1920, Dubovsky attended a convent school, then studied English and History at the University of the Witwatersrand. She became a teacher at St George’s Grammar School in Cape Town and married Dr Henry Dubovsky in 1945.
They lived in Durban and Adelaide, Eastern Cape, before settling in Bloemfontein in the late 1960s. Here Dubovsky became editor of the children’s page and reviewed books for The Friend, immersing herself in the cultural life of Bloemfontein, attending - and delivering public addresses at - many cultural events.
She died in Bloemfontein on 28 March 2012.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She was an active member of the Bloemfontein Repertory Society for many years, performing in numerous plays.
