Cas van Rensburg (1942-2018) was a Jungian analyst, journalist, critic, author and playwright.

Biography
Born in ***, *****.
He was primarily a versatile and well-read journalist, but was also a Jungian analyst of renown, having studied under Marianne Jacoby in London for a number of years. This led him to his interest in theatre.
He died in Onrusrivier in May 2018.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He wrote articles and reviews about cultural matters for a number of publications.
In the middle-1980s he was the literary advisor and resident dramatist for PACT in Pretoria.
He then became a playwright, his plays including Die Tweede Dood van Robey Leibbrandt produced by PACT, 1984 and at the KKNK in 1987; Om Hendrik Weg te Bring (1986), Oscar in Afrika (produced and well received at Aardklop in 1999), *
After his retirement he wrote a number of books, one of the most successful being Jou drome – jou onbewuste het ál die antwoorde ("Your Dreams- Your subconscious has all the answers", 2000), a work strongly influenced by Jung.
