G. H. W. Tremenheere
Ensign G. H. W. Tremenheere Esq. was an officer in the North Lincolnshire Regiment of Foot which was sent to the Eastern Frontier of the Cape Colony (now the Eastern Province, South Africa) between 1860 and 1862 shortly after the Xhosa cattle-killing movement and famine (1857-1858). The regiment was first based in Grahamstown and then moved to Keiskama Hoek. (Modern spelling: Keiskammahoek.)

Biography
Ensign G. H. W. Tremenheere was a member of the Dramatic Club and acted in two plays while serving on the Eastern Frontier. He portrayed women in both plays.

April 5, 11 & 19, 1861: Acted {under the stage name of Miss Blanche De Moultrie} in the Officers of the Regiment's second play, Stirling Coyne's one-act farce, Urgent Private Affairs, (Mrs Polkinghorne).
