Aggrey Klaaste (1940-2004) [1]. Journalist and editor.

As a young writer he wrote for S'ketsh and The World on theatre matters. From the mid-1980s he was the respected editor of the influential The Sowetan and played an influential though pragmatist's role in the transition period in the 1990s.

Awards, etc.

Vigorous promotor of the notion of nation-building, he received a KWV Excellence Award in 1988 and was elected Chairman of the Trustees of Education Africa.
