Barbarey und Grösse ("Cruelty and greatness") is a German tragedy in four acts by Friedrich Wilhelm Ziegler (between 1756 and 1761? - 1827)[1]

Performance history in South Africa

1838: Performed in Dutch as Het Veemgerigt, of Wreedheid en Grootmoedigheid ("The Judiciary, or Cruelty and Kindness”), by some players from the amateur company Vlyt en Kunst on 3 October in Cape Town , with De Dwarsdryfster (Dufresny).
