Misdaad en Wroeging ("crime and anguish") is a dramatic sketch in two acts by P.C.J. Meys (1830-1915)[1]
Not to be confused with De Vadervloek, of Misdaad en Wroeging by Theodoor van der Stempel (1870).

The original text
Based on the story "De Eed van Kapitein Stauncey" from Het Stuiversmagazijn of October 1862. The play was written for the Rederijkers and published in 1863.

1871: Performed in Dutch by Aurora II on 4 May in the Germania Hall, Cape Town, with De Weddenschap (Brink).
