Die Eiserne Larve ("The iron mask") is a German tragedy in five acts by Heinrich Szchokke (1771-1848)[1].
A play based on the legend of the man in the iron mask, it was first published in Bayreuth by J. A. Lübecks Erben 1804.
Translated into Dutch as Het Ijzeren Masker ("The Iron Mask") by an anonymous author, and published in Amsterdam, by J. C. van Kesteren, 1833.
1876: Performed in Dutch as Het Ijzeren Masker (Schokke) by Aurora II at the Oddfellows Hall, Cape Town, on 11 July.
