Drakenstein is a musical play by D.F. Malherbe (1881-1969).

The original text

An adaptation of his own dramatic oratorio Die Blom van Orleans ("The flower of Orleans"), it is referred to as "’n sangspelagtige stuk" (or "musical-like piece") by the author and was written for the Huguenot Festival of 1939.

Published in the collection Die Meul Dreun en Ander Toneelwerk by Nasionale Pers in 1943.

Performance history in South Africa

1939: Possibly performed on 22 September as an occasional piece during the Hugenotefees in Bloemfontein.
