Biography
Based in Diepkloof, Soweto, the playwright is an aspiring poet and film scriptwriter.
Training
In 1986 and 1997, he attended drama classes at the Afrika Cultural Centre under the mentorship of Benjy Francis.
Career
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Dube has written and directed several plays including The Long Walk, Conversations and Bulhoek Prison.
His play Crisis of Hope was to be presented at the Standard Bank Arts Festival in Grahamstown in 1999. The play highlights the daily struggles of homeless people.
He has pioneered the formation of the Theatre Encounter Projects of South Africa (Tepsa) launched in Gauteng in 1998 . Dube said Tepsa was an association aimed at the promotion and development of new and aspiring playwrights.
Dube has conducted scriptwriting workshops in the Eastern Cape, Gauteng and Free State.
He is the founder of Graceland School of Film and Broadcast Media [1]
