An officer in the Wurttemberg regiment stationed at the Cape who had been a friend of the young Schiller and influential in promoting theatre in the colony. In a letter the Baron mentions he and his fellow officers forming a small theatre group. He seems to have been the leading figure, supplying them with books and information.
