The Grass Harp
The Grass Harp is a novel by American novelist, screenwriter, playwright, and actor Truman Capote (1924-1984) [1]. It tells the story of an orphaned boy and two elderly ladies who observe life from a tree. They eventually leave their temporary retreat to make amends with each other and other members of society.

The novel was published on October 1, 1951.
Translations and adaptations
A stage adaptation was written by Capote and the play opened on March 27, 1952 at Broadway's Martin Beck Theatre.

1961: Presented by the University of Cape Town's Speech and Drama Department at the Little Theatre in March, directed by Robert Mohr.
