District Six – The Musical

by David Kramer and Taliep Petersen. A sensationally popular and award-winning musical play lamenting life in and destruction of the Cape Town suburb. First performed in the Baxter Theatre 1987, under the direction of Fred Abrahamse, and had a number of runs there. Also toured the country and went to the Edinburgh Festival in 198* and finished its first run at the Joseph Stone Theatre in 1990. Unpublished. Revived at the Baxter Theatre by Kramer in 2002, winning the authors a Fleur du Cap Award for Best Contribution to a Musical or Revue. District Six – The Musical by David Kramer and Taliep Petersen. This musical ran at the Baxter for six months in 1987 before moving to The Market in February 1988.
