The original text
Promoted as "theatrical cabaret", it was devised by Geoffrey Hyland using the music and lyrics written by Jacques Brel.

Performance history in South Africa
and directed by Hyland at the Studio Theatre, Montecasino in September 2007 with Godfrey Johnson at the piano, Claire Watling acting and singing. Costumes were by Dicky Longhurst.
