Biography
Born Cecilia Schoeman in Bloemfontein, she went to school at **

Began her studies at the Pretoria Teachers College, completing a B.A. and H.E.D. in English Language and Literature (1970 – 1973), followed by a BA Honours from the University of Pretoria (1975 – 1976), an Advanced diploma in Education (with a focus on the gifted child) from the College for Further Education in Pretoria (1984 – 1985), an M.A in Literature and PhD from the University of Pretoria.
She became a lecturer in literacy education, reading promotion and adolescent reading development in the facluyty of Education at the University of Pretoria in March 1993, wad promoted to Senior lecturer in 2001 and retired in 2011
After retirement she has taken up freelance editing and proofreading and has actively pursued a career as creative writer.
She married Peet du Toit in 1978.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She has won a number of the Maskew Miller Longman Literature Awards over the years for her dramatic work, inter alia for Boetie Beter Bester (2008) and BFF in 2014.
In 2012 she won the Afrikaans and IsiNdebele sections of the Youth Drama section of the competition.
