Founded in Lenasia in March 1973, in reaction to the death of Mthuli Shezi and the banning of the SASO and TECON executive in 1973. PET was led by **?? Solly Ismael and Sadeque Variava (editor of the PET Newsletter).

Short-lived, it was closed down by banning order in 19**.
