De Minnaar op den Proef, of Het Zonderlinge Tweegevecht is a Dutch play in three acts by J. de Boer, freely translated from an unknown German play. The author of the original is also unknown.

The Dutch text first published in Amsterdam in 1830 by M. Westerman en zoon and C. van Hulst. Reprinted 1867. Performed regularly in the Netherlands during the 19th century.

Performances in South Africa

1852 Performed in Dutch as De Minnaar op den Proef, of Het Zonderlinge Tweegevecht by Door Yver Bloeit de Kunst on 12 August in the Breestraat Skouburg, Cape Town, as afterpiece to De Kluizenaar op Formentera (Von Kotzebue).
