The Fashionable Lover is an English comedy by Richard Cumberland (1732 – 1811)[1].

The original text
A sentimental comedy about the adventures of a young ward fleeing the attentions of a villainous lord, it was first performed at the Drury Lane Theatre, London in January 1772, and published by W.Griffin in the same year.

1827: Performed in English by Honi Soit qui Mal y Pense on 12 June, with a farce billed as Botheration, or Ten Years' Blunder (Oulton).
