D.C. Postma (18*-19*). Journalist, playwright.
Studied at the Grey University College in Bloemfontein and became a journalist in 1923, working for The Friend in Bloemfontein.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He was a member of the GUK Toneelvereniging and not only acted for them, but also wrote a farce for their 1929 tour (Die Swart Kat). He later wrote the celebrated historical play, Oom Paul (1934) about President Paul Kruger, first performed in that year by Hendrik Hanekom with members of his Toneelskool and later taken on tour throughout the country for many years. He also wrote the play Generaal de Wet.
