I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is a musical comedy with book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts.

The original text
first produced in the town where playwright Joe DiPietro was born, Teaneck, NJ. This premier ran Feb 24 to March 12, 1995 at the American Stage Company Theater , it opened Off-Broadway at the Westside Theatre on August 1, 1996 and closed on July 27, 2008, to become the second-longest running Off Broadway musical. The musical was nominated for the Outer Critics Circle Award as Outstanding Off-Broadway musical in 1997.

1999: Produced by Venture Capital and Perfect Change directed by Charmaine Weir-Smith at the Tesson Theatre, at the Civic Theatre, Johannesburg, from 21 November.
2008: Performed at the Breytenbach Theatre in April by students of Tswane University of Technology, directed by Anitra Davel.
2010: Performed at the Kalk Bay Theatre in June, directed by Paul Griffiths.
2011: Performed by KickstArt, directed by Greg King. Nominated for the Durban Theatre Awards: Musical theatre production.
Off-Broadway’s second longest running musical comedy, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, for Cape Town & Joburg.
2016: Performed at Theatre on the Bay in Cape Town and the Montecasino Theatre in Johannesburg from July to September by VRG Theatrical. Directed by Elizma Badenhorst with Neels Clasen, Brandon Lindsay, Taryn-Lee Hudson and Claire Taylor. Described as as "a new, upscale production", with set and wardrobe by Niall Griffin.
