Peter Cartwright
Peter Cartwright (1935–2013) [1] was a South African-born British radio, stage, television and film actor. Best known, internationally, for portraying the role of the wizard Elphias Doge in the film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) [2].

Biography
Cartwright was born in Krugersdorp, Gauteng, South Africa.
Youth
Went to school at St. Andrew's College in Grahamstown.
Training
Went to Britain in 1959 and studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) [3] in London.
Career
After qualifying from RADA in London, Cartwright returned to South Africa where he performed in productions by the performing arts boards in the late 1970's, before returning to England to continue his career as an actor.
